All who care about the future of Wayne County are invited to join us at one of the Focus on the Future workshops—Wayne Onward’s first round of public engagement. Whether you are a new or life-long resident, your perspective is vital to success. There are four opportunities to share your ideas and help shape a new plan for the County. Attend the session that is most convenient to you. There are two meetings on two dates.
Tuesday, November 13, 5:30-7:30 pm
- Schmid Hall, 501 Hall Street, Orrville
- Waynedale High School, 9048 Dover Road, Apple Creek
Thursday, November 15, 5:30-7:30 pm
- Northwestern High School, 7473 N. Elyria Road, West Salem
- Triway High School, 3205 Shreve Road, Wooster
In this two-hour workshop you will learn about Wayne County’s challenges and opportunities and engage in small group activities on topics like neighborhoods and housing, lakes, economic prosperity, transportation, the environment, and more.
The workshops will help to inform initial goals and preliminary recommendations for the plan. They will be part of a robust public engagement process that will also include regular meetings of a citizen steering committee. Eighteen members of the Wayne County community have been selected to provide key guidance and insight as part of the committee, representing the diversity of perspectives in the County.
